(Baltimore, MD) - AIFD (the American Institute of Floral Designers) has selected the Hyatt Regency Miami to host its 2012 National Symposium, it was announced today by Sharon McGukin AIFD, the Institute’s Vice President.

"We’ve negotiated a fantastic package with the Hyatt and we are already anticipating an exciting floral design education program in Miami," said McGukin who added that the dates for the event will be July 12-16 with the Accreditation Evaluation Session taking place on July 10-11.

In addition to the Hyatt Regency, AIFD will utilize the expansive City of Miami’s James L. Knight Convention Center for its educational extravaganza.

"Miami provides us a wonderful opportunity to capitalize on the dynamic Latin market," said AIFD’s Executive Director Tom Shaner. "We also have exciting potential opportunities to develop a post-Symposium tour, visit leading floral importers and growers, and so much more."

Just coming off one of its most successful Symposium education programs in Chicago, AIFD’s 2009 event is planned for Kansas City, MO, July 11-16 (AES on July 10).

The 2010 event will be in Boston (July 3-8 – AES on 1st) and 2011 will be in San Francisco (July 4-9 – AES on 3rd)
