American Institute of Floral Designers

Interested in becoming an Accredited Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers? We hope that the following information will help you prepare for this wonderful career pursuit.

Membership in AIFD is selective. To be accepted, a candidate must fulfill rigid qualifications and demonstrate advanced professional ability. Applicants must successfully complete the AIFD Accreditation Evaluation Program. Members of the American Institute of Floral Designers are distinguished by the letters "AIFD" used as an addenda to their name.

AIFD recommends that you first become a Candidate Member (see below), however, you may simply ask to be notified in February that applications for the next Accreditation Evaluation Program are being solicited. As you will see under the "AIFD Candidate Member" heading below, Candidates are guaranteed one of the limited number of spaces that will be available each year at an Accreditation Evaluation Program. There may not be space for others.

To register as a Candidate or to simply ask to be notified of the next Accreditation Evaluation Program, please complete the application online or print it out and fax or mail it to AIFD. Be sure to include appropriate fees. PLEASE NOTE: The Candidate Application fee is not applicable towards the AES registration fee nor is it a deposit for AES.

Aspiring floral designers seeking to achieve the coveted status as an Accredited Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, and thus be authorized to proudly use the "AIFD" addendum as part of their professional name, should register to be an AIFD Candidate.

AIFD Candidates are instantly recognized as professionals who are dedicated to advancing, through education, the art of floral design.
