AIFD and the Presidential Inauguration!
How You Can Get Involved in the 2009 Inaugural Celebrations

Many of you have contacted the AIFD office to ask about volunteering to be a part of the floral design team for the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. It's fantastic news that so many of you would like to be involved in this historic event.

AIFD has been in touch with the Society of American Florists (SAF) regarding plans for the Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20. While no specific plans have been made, we've agreed to refer all of you who may be interested in volunteering to help coordinate floral decor to Laura Weaver. If you would like to be considered for the possible floral team, please advise Laura today.

Remember:

  1. There will be a limited number of volunteers requested.
  2. Preference will be give to SAF members.
  3. There is no guarantee at this time that a floral design team will even be assembled (if, for instance, the overall Inauguration Committee is not holding hotel rooms, then it will be nearly impossible for SAF to be able to assist).
