President's Message
The North Central Chapter has been very busy with activity. We had great representation at symposium with the beautiful luncheon décor provided by Sue and Stacey Bal AIFD, followed by a very informative stage presentation by Jerome Raska AIFD and Robbin Yelverton AIFD on Effective Messaging Strategies. We also had two of our members: Brian Wenmoth and G. Mitchell Bennett working on the stage crew to make sure the programs went on as planned.
We welcomed six new AIFD members to our chapter: Amanda David of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; Tiffany Hammond of Andover, Minn.; Enrika Karalius of Crestwood, Ill.; Lesa Killian of Otsego, Minn.; Carolyn Minutillo of Jefferson, Ind.; and Patience Pickner of Chamberlain, S.D. (Not only did Patience receive her AIFD designation, she will also receive her PFCI credentials at the SAF convention later this year.)
Two members achieved CFD status: Shawn Michael Foley of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. and Linda Pawlick of St. Paul, Minn.
Now that we are finally enjoying the summer season, we need to think about the fact that autumn is just around the corner. The one event the NC chapter always looks forward to is "Nature's Creative Edge." This is a public awareness event that happens to be one of our major fund raising opportunities for the chapter. Bob Friese AIFD graciously provides his property and product for floral artists to create incredible displays. It is definitely a not-to-miss event. This year "Nature's Creative Edge" will take place Sept. 16-18, 2011 in Fruitport, Mich. We will have an update for you in the next issue.
Enjoy the rest of your summer…the holiday season is fast approaching!
Sincerely,
Dan Kotecki AIFD
