The 2008 AIFD Southern Conference, "Legendary Events: Special Times and Southern Traditions," is scheduled to take place March 7-9, 2008 at the Hilton Hotel in Pensacola Beach, Fla. This event will offer a little bit of everything for students, those interested in AIFD accreditation, and AIFD members.

Located on the warm waters of the Gulf of
Mexico, Pensacola is home to the world’s whitest beaches. This city was also home to early settlers, and the colorful influences they left are evident everywhere you look. From historic Seville Square to the battered walls of Fort Pickens, you’ll find 400 years of history and plenty to see during your free time. Over the years millions have come to Pensacola for one thing The Beaches. The sugar-white sand beaches of Pensacola are legendary and considered to be some of the most beautiful in the world.

One of the most popular attractions in Pensacola is The Museum of Naval Aviation located at Pensacola Naval Air Station (see picture on right). The museum is one of the largest air and space museums in the world and the exhibits represent the most important collections of naval aviation memorabilia in existence. Floral Body Art Competition and Fundraiser

Strut your stuff!, Have fun and be creative! From hair to skin to fabric… Use floral to enhance the body, all items and all sizes are allowed… paint, glitter, make up, etc. 50% of design must be fresh floral or foliage. Attendees will cast their votes with dollars, you collect, at a dollar a vote. Be a winner and you will win half of your collection, so you can control your winnings! The other half going to the AIFD Southern Scholarship Program. Remember, this is for the public to see!

With the impressive slate of present ors, outstanding floral design experience, and networking opportunities awaiting you here in beautiful Pensacola Beach, sell-out is very likely, so be sure to register early! Advance money saving registrations will close on December 31, 2007. Deadline for the full registration (which includes 5 meals) is February 20, 2008. Proper payment must be received by AIFD Southern on or before deadline on or before these dates. Single day registration , if available, will open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7th and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8th. No checks will be accepted for on-site registrations, cash or approved credit card only.

*Cancellation Policy
Full refund if canceled by December 31, 2007. A $100.00 charge will be applied to any cancellations between January 1st and January 15th. There will be no refunds made after January 15th.

*Symposium Attire
In this casual beach setting comfortable business casual is appropriate for most functions. The cocktail hour and Presidents Dinner function, Saturday, March 8, 8:00 p.m. Formal dinner attire or semi formal attire is recommended. Don’t forget your bathing suit for swimming or lounging by the tropical landscaped pool area.
