AIFD's 2007 National Symposium, “The Edge of Paradise”, will take place on July 7-11, 2007 in Palm Desert, Calif.

Some of Europe's Top Floral Designers including Geert Pattyn and the dynamic group Life3 will be making exclusive appearances at this years symposium as they join the already impressive faculty. The highly regarded international artists will be sharing their talents and trade secrets with symposium attendees.

With the likes of wedding luminaries Preston Bailey, Sylvia Weinstock, and Maria McBride among its faculty and promotional efforts at events like The Special Event 2007, AIFD’s 2007 National Symposium is generating quite a buzz among special events professionals.

AIFD Symposium to Host World’s Most Highly Regarded Floral Artists!
Europe’s most celebrated floral artists will be making a rare trip across the pond to share their artistic creativity during the 2007 National Symposium. AIFD is proud to announce the following European floral designers will be among its impressive faculty.

Geert Pattyn (pictured right)
In a world lavish with flowers, plants, new vegetal materials and abundant floral accessories, where one wants to be up-to-date on the latest trends and techniques, at the end of the day it’s necessary to balance flair and funds. Geert’s subtlety and sophistication will show you how he not only creates floral trends but also works with them daily without compromising his passion, creativity and capital. This renowned artist and author will demonstrate how you can use imaginative, artistic and practical choices to create breathtaking compositions for all occasions.

What happens when you combine the skills of three of the best flower artists in Europe? An overwhelming experience of creativity, originality, craftsmanship and beauty come together to form Life3. Making only their second appearance in the states, the combined talents of Per Benjamin, Max van de Sluis and Tomas De Bruyne will bring the art of floral arrangement to new heights and will help you advance your talents and careers for 2007 and beyond.

AIFD Announces the Addition of Wedding Luminaries
We know that wedding events are a vital area of your business. AIFD is excited to be able to host the talents of the following wedding experts to heighten your education value:

Preston Bailey (pictured right) is the premier floral designer to the stars. When Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Joan Rivers, Donna Karan, Liza Minnelli, Laurence Fishburne, Bill Cosby, Matt Lauer, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones wanted to celebrate the magical moments in their lives, Preston was their first call.

Sylvia Weinstock is without a doubt the most famous wedding cake designer in America, and is known for the most lavish wedding cakes and flowers she has created for the likes of Donald Trump, Whitney Houston and the Saudi royal family.

Maria McBride, Bride's magazine’s wedding style director, will reveal what’s new and what will be going down the aisle in style….trends and more. McBride is a leading expert on weddings having authored such popular titles as Bridal Flowers and The Perfect Wedding.

2007 Outstanding Varieties Display
Floral artistry starts with the rights materials. Here is your chance to see, smell and touch award-winning flowers and plants. Critics recognized them as Best in Class and with Blue Ribbons during the Outstanding Varieties Competition held during SAF Naples 2006, the Society of American Florists 122nd Annual Convention.
