Awards Chair Walter Fedyshyn AIFD said that Null's "mastery and promotion of the Southern look of floral design has influenced countless designers throughout the country." Currently working as an educator and design consultant, Null resides in Columbus, Miss.

Also honored during the ceremonies were the husband and wife team of Phil Rulloda AIFD and Cathy Rulloda AIFD with the Award of Distinguished Service to the Floral Industry. For its work in promoting the use of fresh flowers and plants in everyday life among its viewers, Home & Garden Television (HGTV) was singled out for the AIFD Award of Merit Non-Industry. Past honorees for this award have included Lady Bird Johnson, the NBC "Today" Show, and Martha Stewart.

Larry Crain was announced as recipient of the AIFD Award of Merit - Industry.
