An Uncommon Exploration

Featuring: Coby Neal AIFD, Beth O'Reilly AIFD

Uncommon Exploration

Having searched for a common thread to identify and relate the interconnectedness of all life, creative floral design stars Beth and Coby brought their findings together as they relate them directly to flowers. This journey reconstructed intense human emotions along with a new awareness of the natural world.

Uncommon Notes:

If something lasts only briefly, can it still be full of meaning?

The ephemeral nature of flowers has often been used as a metaphor for the human condition. Flowers remind us of the interconnectedness of all life and they have the ability to portray a collective identity. "An Uncommon Exploration" searches for a common thread, identifying and relationg it directly to flowers.

The program reveals floral design as an installation of art that incorporates the hand, the heart and the intellect, along with the fruits of the earth.

Nature presents a certain complexity that is challenging to express. It is full of contradictions; look for the yin and yang: hard and soft, dark and light, red and green. Relating and juxtaposing opposites helps to achieve balance. They are building blocks of structure.
