From Concept to Creation

Featuring: Corey Harbour AIFD

Concept

The creative design director for the program underwriter, Corey lifted spirits into the sky with the conceptional development and implementation of products in today's retail floral environment. While many items are driven by trends and need to be cutting edge, Corey also demonstrated ways to perfect and work with existing items and concepts that will help help you reinvent and increase sales.

Concept Notes:

From Concept to Creation is a brief program of merchandising ideas, techniques and processes that will allow us to get a glimpse of the development and implementation of floral product in today's floral/retail environment. As we are aware, the development of every stem, home accent piece, bush, arrangement and container are drawn, assembled and though out piece by piece with many successful items and fa few not so successful. While many items are trend driven and very cutting edge, at times we have to perfect and work with a top producing item to reinvent and increase sales. While prodominately working with permanent botanicals and many mediums of containers, we will take a look inside the thought process and implementation of products to be merchandised and how the relevance of items are put into a complete design of an entire look or theme.

While merchandising is only a part of the floral industry, it is important to assist in educating many that the same principals and elements of design are required as well. Some basic principals need to be kept in mind with proper depth, balance, color, creativity and proportion, all the time makeing the presentation eduational and yet motivational for those shopping from that display.
