Beloved AIFD Past President Passes Away
AIFD mourns the loss of Thomas Powell, Past President (1983-1984), who passed away on June 21. No plans have been announced yet for a service. Powell was one of the most influential forces in the growth and development of AIFD as well as in the AIFD Foundation. He will be sorely missed.
The memorial service for Tom will be Tuesday, June 29 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Presidents at the National Presbyterian Church, 4101 Nebraska Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016. Contributions in his honor may be made to the AIFD Foundation.

Jacqueline Headecker AIFD was the spring
semester Artist in Residence floral designer
at Mississippi State University, April 6-8.
Jackie taught four different courses during
her visit on topics including Canadian floricultural
products and distribution, floral
design for interior plantscapers, and traditional
and freestyle ikeabana.

OASIS® Floral Products Welcomes AIFD Members as New Design Directors to North American Team
OASIS® Floral Products announced three new design directors to its floral team: Frank Feysa AIFD; Loann Burke AIFD, PFCI and Neville MacKay. Joining the six-member design team, the design directors will be an integral part of the OASIS® Floral team and involved with design innovations, breaking new floral trends and sharing their knowledge and experience with florists around the world.

Southern Chapter Celebrates Successful Conference
The 2010 Southern Regional Conference was a resounding success!! An all-star line-up of outstanding speakers and award winning floral artists brought new and fresh ideas to the table and gave helpful tips, tricks and trends to keep all floral designers in the know!

AIFD Mourns the Loss of a Beloved Member
Tony Manders AIFD, CFD, a longtime active member of AIFD, passed away on Friday, April 2.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will take place on April 9, at 4 p.m. at the London Convention Centre in London, ON, Canada with reception to follow.
If desired, remembrances may be made to the Women's Community House, 101 Wellington Rd., London, ON N6C 4M7 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 150-633 Colborne St., London, ON N6B 2V3.
AIFD Board Regional Officers/Directors Elected & Bylaws Amendment Approved
Mary Linda Horn AIFD of Ostrander, OH and Ken Norman AIFD of Midland Park, NJ were elected by the members of AIFD to a three-year term as a Director-At-Large on the National Board of Directors. Also nominated for the at-large positions were Michael Hollenbeck AIFD of Lewiston, ID and Anthony Vigliotta AIFD of Los Angeles.
On the national scale, AIFD members approved a proposed amendment to the Institute Bylaws in reference to the structure of the Symposium Committee.
