(Check out the Program Slideshow Below)

Brad Harnisch AIFD and Kelly Harnisch AIFD lived only 30 miles apart, but never met until they became acquainted at the Boston Symposium in 1992. Six years later, in 1998, Brad and Kelly were married in front of the AIFD Symposium at Boston's Old South Church. It was a magical and memorable moment in their lives... to be united surrounded by family, AIFD friends, industry colleagues and extraordinary flowers.

Active in AIFD since their induction, Brad in 1989 and Kelly in 1994, both have served on the AIFD Membership Committee, designed for exhibits for the Philadelphia and Chicago Flower Shows and presented three National Symposium programs.

Brad and Kelly, members of the AIFD North Central Chapter, they served on the Board of Directors. Both members of the Wisconsin and Upper Michigan Florists Association; Brad is past President of WUMFA and received the association's Special Services Award in 2005. They were part of the floral design team for President George W. Bush Inauguration activities in 2001 and design captains in 2005. Brad has been a featured designer in Florists' Review Magazine, The Bride and Bloom Magazine. In addition to designing for wholesale shows, state associations and wire service associations, Brad and Kelly travel to China to work on product development for the floral industry and showroom display.

Brad and Kelly own and operate two stores; "Floral Expressions," a full service flower shop in Janesville, Wisconsin and "Splurge; Nothing You Need, Everything You Deserve," a home decor and gift shop in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin.

NOTES:

Celebrations help cement our social ties and strengthen relationships. Where societal evolution moves toward briefer, more superficial, and fewer face-to-face interactions, celebratory events gain importance and bring us physically together. Explore modern interpretations of today's gatherings and celebrate - "It's ouR-evolution of Gatherings."

Where societal evolution moves toward briefer, more superficial, and fewer face-to-face interactions (think Twitter, Facebook, and texting), celebratory events gain importance as a rare opportunity to bring us physically together.

Formal social gatherings figure significantly in modern American life because they stand out from the realities of everyday existence -- often marked by mobility, impermanence, separation and isolation. Not surprisingly, there is a drive to make special events truly "special" and memorable, and flowers are an integral part of these infrequent yet essential gatherings.

Our program speaks to the importance and prominence of the floral artist's contribution to these events. Join us as we explore modern interpretations of today's gatherings and celebrate the unique role of flowers in the special moments of our lives.
