Make this Symposium the Best Learning Experience Ever. Learn From the Industry's Best in the Symposium Workroom!
Calling all volunteers! We are currently seeking warm bodies with opposable thumbs to help with all aspects of the floral workroom for AIFD's 2009 Symposium, "The Sky's the LImit." We are gathering names and will assign responsibilities and times when we receive them from the various designers/committees.
If you have never experienced the workroom frenzy now is the time. It is a truly awe inspiring experience where you can observe stage designers in their natural habitat! It is a fantastic way to learn how things are constructed as well as a great opportunity to "collaborate" with other floral-minded people from around the world. You don not have to be an AIFD member to help. However, you do have to register and pay for symposium. Volunteering your time is one way to guarantee this will be the best symposium ever!
We are hoping for a large volunteer base to help with the responsibilities of the workroom. If you are interested in volunteering your time and talent, please contact Leane Kesler via e-mail at leanne@floraldesigninstitute.com. For those of you without e-mail, call Leane at (800) 819-8089. Drop us a note or give us a call to sign up for the fun. Bring a friend and share the joy!

Symposium Looking For Mentors
Remember your first Symposium? How excited, nervous and a little unsure of how this whole thing works?
In an effort to enhance the "Symposium Experience," for first time and greener attendees, AIFD is supplementing its First Timer's Orientation starting at 5:30 p.m. with a 6 p.m. pre-Symposium tour featuring mentorship by some of the Institute's most enthusiastic members!
If you are interested in giving back and serving as a mentor, there is no need to attend the Orientation - just show up shortly before the tour begins at 6 p.m. in the Empire Room on the second level.
For additional details, please contact Tom Simmons AIFD at tomsimmons@gmail.com or call (310) 367-9434.
