Membership in AIFD

Interested in becoming an Accredited Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers? We hope that the following information will help you prepare for this wonderful career pursuit.

Membership in AIFD is selective. To be accepted, a candidate must fulfill rigid qualifications and demonstrate advanced professional ability. Applicants must first successfully complete the AIFD PFDE program and in doing so earn the coveted Certified Floral Designer (CFD) designation.

Once they have earned the CFD, depending upon the level of their PFDE results, they may be eligible to be invited to join AIFD in its mission to advance the art of professional floral design through education. Members of the American Institute of Floral Designers are distinguished by the letters "AIFD" used as an addenda to their name.

Interested floral designers should review the PFDE information and enroll as a candidate. Candidates are guaranteed one of the limited number of spaces that will be available each year at a Certified Floral Designer Program, as long as their deposit is received in the allotted time given. There may not be space for others.

Aspiring floral designers seeking to achieve the coveted status as an Accredited Member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, as well as the CFD designer, should enroll in the PFDE program immediately upon successfully completing an approved education pathway.

AIFD Candidates are instantly recognized as professionals who are dedicated to advancing, through education, the art of floral design.

About

Each year, immediately prior to its National Symposium, the American Institute of Floral Designers will conduct an Accreditation Evaluation Session for floral designers seeking to gain membership into the Institute and to earn their "Accredited in Floral Design" status.
