Greetings! As president of the Northwest region, I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone and thank you for visiting our chapter page.
This past July, our region had the pleasure of hosting the AIFD National Symposium 'Imagine' in San Francisco. Congratulations to David Kesler, AIFD and Leanne Kesler AIFD for their vision and leadership in organizing an overall fantastic event. My thanks go out to them and everyone involved in making symposium such a success. I would also like to welcome two new members, who were inducted into our region: Stephanie LaPrairie AIFD from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada; and Erik Witcraft AIFD from Portland, Oregon. Several candidates also tested for our region - I am excited that our chapter is continuing to grow.
The year ahead promises many opportunities for us to demonstrate the value of AIFD. In an effort to continue the momentum started at symposium, we are working on a number of programs in which we can use our skills to help educate and inspire future designers. More information will be available later this year.
The Northwest region has an outstanding board of directors. I have had the pleasure of working with many of them since I was first elected to the board in 2008. Our past president Wil Gonzalez AIFD has set a high standard that I, with the help and guidance of the board, will strive to maintain. I am sure that with hard work and dedication, we can accomplish all of our goals.
